Photography of Keith Evans

Photography as a medium has never stood still. Unlike fine art oil painting which is pretty much the same process it has been for hundreds of years, the process of making a photograph, since its inception a few hundred years ago is forever changing.

Presently we are being inundated with all things digital and as such digital image capture is the latest trend. Recently however there has been a bit of a digital backlash, as more and more people serious about photography dip their toe into film photography or return to it. We are seeing a bit of a rebirth of the film medium, with more products becoming available, and the old standby’s staying and becoming even more popular. Keith’s photography has largely ignored the digital trend, and has forged ahead with film. All the black and white photographs shown here have been captured on film using a variety of camera formats. The film has been developed using Pyro and the negatives for display purposes are printed on fiber based paper to ensure that Keith’s vision remains permanent for generations.

Since this site sits in the digital milieu, it cannot exist without it, for the purposes of display the images here have been digitized using a scanner, the only digital manipulation being dust removal.

About display – the images found in the photo galleries have been “tuned” to be seen over a broad range of monitors. However we have noted in some cases, certain LED monitors show the black and white images rather dark and contrasty without any greyscale. If that is what you see - sorry, the management is working on it.
